My beautiful Wednesday lunch date!

Jane was still in bed when I got there today. That used to be a common occurrence but the past few month’s she’s been up & waiting for me when I arrive. She did get up right away for me so perhaps she had just been waiting for someone to come get her.

They were just getting lunch ready & Jane didn’t want to sit & wait so we did a lap outside first. Jane stopped, turned to me, gave me a big hug, then looked me in the eyes & said I love you. What a beautiful way to begin our visit. We had lunch then walked some more. Jane was a chatter box today & while sometimes it came out as jibber jabber, often times she was very clear with her words. She seemed to be having a good day.

Jane’s hands & feet were cold & clammy today. I’ve noticed for quite some time her hands get cold but the clammy is new. We stopped during our visit to chat with Danielle, the fabulous nurse on site. She will bring it up with the doctor because Danielle had not noticed this before either. I am grateful for the facility where Jane is now – they all genuinely care for her & I am confident she gets the best care. I can not say that about the first facility. Despite my dad, brother & I doing all our due diligence, they just were not truthful. Lesson I learned – stay away from big corporate facilities & instead focus on small, locally run. The owner of Jane’s home is on site daily. He is always available if we have questions & you can tell he wants to create the best possible environment for his residents.
